Mackerel are a pelagic fish which cover great distances….they are found in Swanage Bay one minute, and gone the next. “The fact that they swim so far and fast builds up their mussels thus producing high levels of Omega 3,” explains Julia at Swanage Bay Fish.
For 2…or more as a starter
2 Mackerel filets
2 tsp paprika… or hotter red pepper if preferred
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic oil… or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dill
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp vegeta powder…. or aromat
4 Oz of butter
Lemon Slices
Mix all ingredients and dip mackerel till coated
Heat half of the butter… hot not burnt
Cook mackerel 2 minutes each side
Remove fish
Add rest of butter, heat
Serve and pour pan butter over fish
Add lemon slices
Enjoy!
