Thanks to bumper crowds, the 2016 Swanage Fish Festival was a tremendous success!
Swanage restaurants and public houses kicked off the weekend on Friday evening with special fishy menus. Seafood and fish stalls tempted thousands of visitors to Prince Albert Gardens on Saturday and Sunday and the crowds enjoyed the sunshine and stayed for the live music line-up on Saturday evening where The Reptiles rocked the stage. Local girl, Nicole Faraday made a surprise appearance on Sunday afternoon. Chefs from Rick Stein Sandbanks and The Pig in the Beach at Studland attracted record numbers of fish lovers. Food foraging excursions in Swanage Bay with Giuseppe Sinaguglia of The Olive Tree Cookery School proved popular with foodies.
Swanage Fish Festival Chairman, Adam Clarke says: “What a tremendous event. Thanks to all our supporters both local and from afar. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves in the sunshine in Swanage with some tremendous seafood. Most importantly we have raised lots of money for the three great causes we support this year…Swanage RNLI, Swanage NCI and The Fishermen’s Mission.” More reports, photographs and video reports of the event will be added to the SFF site soon.
